Acula was originally conceptualized as just pulling most of hornet's traits and moving them slightly to the left so shes a hornet that isnt a hornet (because bald faced hornets are yellowjackets) and because shes wingless she sometimes calls herself an ant instead (velvet ant. which is a wasp)
