Gonna cut out the most flamboyant pair of wool #sewliberatedarthurpants later on 👀 I had dug up some complementary checks which I thought I might need, but in fact I think I can get all the pieces solely from this, as it's a broadcloth. I won't be mad if I have to draw on the B team though.

This week on Duck Island: Two bombshells arrive in the park! Will Lefty's head be turned? How will Ngaire react when she finds out? Stay tuned for more.
Made another soft jersey coord set the last few days on the #garmentsewing front. I've decided I prefer these slimline pyjama type pants and I'll cut one of my wide leg pairs down to the same I think. Also more labels. I did this Kelsmandu design as a linocut; this is it filled in with poscas.
#garmentsewing I love collecting tags, and making tags, and I do genuinely enjoy sewing them on and yet somehow most of my projects get left unlabeled. Then I collect up a whole bunch of them and try to nail them all down at once. I've got like 6 so far in this go round 🥳 this one's for you Toni 😸🇳🇿
I love an arty tag for my #garmentsewing projects and I've experimented with lino cut ones but had a tough time with getting the ink to be colour fast. These I've done with posca pens, on scrap calico. I ran a test before I started on a calico bit through the wash after decoration. Success!

Twiggy loves stationery. I find this highly relatable 😂😸🇳🇿
Okay so I have spent three days on a garment I don't love tbh 😂😅 a toile really but STILL #simplicitysewings8014 This is indeed flannelette. I thought it'd maybe be a warm WFH garment (it does this, sorta) or a nightie (not enough ease in the bodice). #garmentsewing whinge continues below lol.
Bear with me for the most delightful tableau. At the park, a Canada goose (Mrs Goose/Large Charge/Goosey) has been best friends with a muscovy (Marge) since her nasty husband was disappeared by the council right before Carols by Candlelight lol. They were ALWAYS together, but in the last week...

I discovered oxygen bleach in the last year. What do you MEAN I can spray it on, watch it bubble, blood stain disappears before my eyes? COLOUR SAFE? And I've been suffering with Napisan soaks all this time?! Sorry just having a laundry meltdown about the last 30 misspent years
I have been trying to really hit the things I need in my wardrobe which means sewing some slightly boring basics. I love these #greenstylebrooklynjoggers for basically a long john that I wear under my walking pants or as pyjamas. I chucked a basic plush elastic on in place of a waistband.
Here's a parry video featuring another audacious female flying over & Ngaire defending the field (sound on! They're so sassy. I'm a yapper too though soz 😂). After we walked off Lefty followed us and very delicately landed at my feet, so I left him another wee handful of grain for a treat. #nzbirds
Here's the problem with cutting out a thing in the evening that's going to be a quick sew: I just finish it 🤷🏻♀️ especially when it's something I'm despo to wear to bed. Hooded nightie woohoo! Started cut out *checks notes* 3h ago haha
#garmentsewing SO I made these thermalermals (merino tunics basically) a month or so back and I thought I should increase the cosiness by adding a hood. Voila! It's soooo good. I've included our icy park and some duck pics. Spot Goldie on her throne in the swamp (zoom in under the willow).
It's a cat pic dump. Of the twinsies. If you like tabby cats I've got you covered #nzpets The spy bag is actually originally Twiggy's but Toni has been very keen on it today. It's just a Countdown bag haha. Your cat might just need a spy bag too.

I made myself a snood with the leftover fabric from my long hoodie/Toni sling. I wear one of these to bed because a hoodie is too warm but particularly my neck needs extra warming. This time I sewed it all up with just a zigzag stitch and I love how it looks inside #garmentsewing #jaliealbert
I've spent the last three rainy days perfecting my undies pattern. Five versions and now it's everything I've ever wanted. An actual full brief! There's a lot of process involved along with some amusing hand drawn fit pics, so here's just the Threadloop link if anyone's interested 🤷🏻♀️ #garmentsewing

Gonna use all 👋🏻 ten 👋🏻 picture slots 👋🏻 because this hoodie - which is definitely the greatest hoodie I've ever owned - took me ages. It's #greenstylebanff and l blocked everything and topstitched everything..... Ugh. Worth it though. Merino interlock and there's a cold snap coming! #garmentsewing
Okay. The zip is done. This hoodie has really been a labour of love and now I have only the cuffs and hem band left. I love having a big old notions stash (old being the operative word: this zip has got to be 50+yo). I can almost always colour match my fabric. #greenstylebanff #garmentsewing
The wool hoodie continues and I've now got the hood outer on too. I'm dreading putting the zip in lol (I'm being daft, I'm good at zips) but I also really want to wear it to the park in the morning so 👀 It's very very warm. Still has waist pieces to go too. +park, best ginger crunch #garmentsewing
#garmentsewing today, I might finish my merino hoodie (the second). And then I want to make a shirt dress out of this flannel. I suspect there's going to be no way to escape the nightiness of it but I might use it together with another fabric. Or just wear it and not care lol. +Frosty ducks.
I've been lucky enough to find two lengths of merino interlock in op shops over the last 3 years. I treasure them, and the scraps too. I'm always looking for things I can make out of smaller and smaller bits. Mittens are about the limit 😂 #garmentsewing #jalie2318 Bonus duck content 🦆
Well, I made up my new bandinos - one for the lovely gal gardener and one for me, and one for ?? A spare anyway. So warm! They have two layers of merino interlock. It becomes hilariously mallard-mating-plumage once I add my snood too 💀 #garmentsewing Next to try: mittens 👀
Well that didn't take long #garmentsewing #burdastyle104Sep25 - for all your cat holding needs
Definitely 😂 and just wait til she realizes it's got a Toni holder
I made up a hoodie dress the other day, traced from the VERY alarming pages of the Burda mag. It's cotton French terry and I wasn't sure if it was too bright. I think I can live with being this aggressively yellow though. This sewed up very quickly. #garmentsewing #burdastyle104Sep25
I sewed up a double layered heavy merino headband out of scraps from a hoodie, and gifted it to one of the wonderful gardeners at the park who gets around in a headband a lot. She's thrilled & reports warmest ears ever, and I'm now very motivated to make myself one 👀 just a tube, but a WARM tube
Also idk if you've ever wanted to watch a Paradise duck go to town on some porridge but I'll leave this here just in case. Another morning at the pūtangitangi buffet

I lengthened my #helensclosetwinslowculottes to be the full length. I had decided I didn't love them at 3/4 length, and I had enough of the fabric left over that I could easily tack on the remainder. I decided I wanted a pin tuck at the join and in fact I just did it as an inside out French seam 😂
I made some #helensclosetwinslowculottes using this luscious tencel twill. I did end up using a reasonably modified waistband that tapers to a yoked back, but I think it's pretty rad. I made these for summer wear but it's not feeling very summery here.. luckily they're great with tights too!
