Roopika Risam@roopikarisam.bsky.social · 2w agoThe 11 hours it took for me to realize you can turn off Gemini in Google Docs were truly torturous because I keep browsers windows at half the width of my screen and every time I went back to work on this Very Important Document for someone's career, Gemini activated and tried to "help."
As an average Mac user.

That .exe file obscured by the left Finder column. That's the file I want. macOS 26 is a joke.
This thing was NOT easy to update. It required several other computers to write the floppy disk *just right* in order for the Packard Bell to recognize it. That’s just how vintage computing is. There’s documentation and then the practical realities that throw a wrench into everything.

I got it for free from @wiscomputerclub.bsky.social after another user said they couldn't get it to work. Mobo "disabled" the IDE controller. BIOS update later and we're in business. It's alive!
