Gaylord from Boes/Ox Tales has become something of a Boxing Gorilla Day frequent fist-flinger, as there are numerous strips in which the speedo-clad simian dons the ol' mitts for a brawl. His most frequent opponent is the similarly boisterous bear seen here. #BoxingGorillaDay

The inaugural Boxing Gorilla Day in 2016 seemed like the perfect opportunity to celebrate Boes, the Dutch comic strip that was turned into an animated show named Ox Tales, which regularly features a gorilla (named Gaylord in the show's English dub) who likes to box other animals. #BoxingGorillaDay

The first Boxing Gorilla Day took place on July 22, 2016, on The Site Formerly Known As Twitter.
