My cats are repeatedly asking me to turn off the heat. I give them ice cold water every hour but I suppose not enough :)

It’s been a while and I’ve been busy. Did a bunch of work in my site, then went on to scroll on others. Such is the life I suppose.
I just have to appreciate the workplace I'm employed at right now. I don't think they would see this since they do not track my socials, to my knowledge. No crunch. 9 to 6. Done? Rest well. Work life balance is as good as it gets. I feel blessed.
I wish I could somehow install Nix package manager to my iPad. Get Neovim going without relying on outside stuff. That combination would be all I need, but of course Apple has to make it difficult. This thing is more performant than my M1 Max MBP at this point.
When things go wrong, they all go wrong at once. When they go right, I forget that they ever went wrong. Until they do. Again.
Work day after an extended weekend hits hard. Already looking forward to the next weekend.
Do you have that issue where you haven’t used a usb drive in a while and the moment when you need it, it disappears from existence for days, until days later you notice that it was behind your keyboard all along or somewhere ridiculous?
Whenever I see someone learning without AI and asking for help in socials, I feel like celebrating. I think I'm not alone in this sentiment. People are really way more willing to help when it is not AI generated. I see them flocking to assist. Beautiful.
Super agreed. apnews.com/article/pen-... > “I think it really has an appeal especially to a younger generation who grew up with a phone glued to their hand, to do something that’s more tactile, slower, more intentional, more mindful, but also just disconnected from the internet in every way.”
Dear Readers: Yes, pen pal programs still exist in a digital world
A recent trip to New Zealand to visit her pen pal of 40 years made an Associated Press reporter from New Hampshire wonder about the history of programs that bring strangers together to write letters.

Just built my new blog, ready for production. Then I could get to the fun part, which is actually posting. I just wrote some small thing about the "AI revolution" to get warmed up to it. keremk.be/blog/ai-the-...
AI: The Gateway Drug
I am just going to talk about how AI companies are using AI as a drug, patterns and dark patterns.

I should start distancing myself from AI stuff a little bit. I noticed that I’ve lost my touch recently and that is definitely not so cash money.
Got an external keyboard for my phone and noticed that I really dislike tapping glass to type. This will be my default from now on.
Preload complete. Looking forward to playing the new Elden Ring!
I treated myself to a 4K 240hz OLED monitor with my first salary as a fullstack developer and it practically changed my whole development workflow. I can basically have 4 windows open in one workspace and it is literal perfection. I wish I went 4K way sooner!
Hello Bluesky from the only morning where I can sleep until 10am so I wake up at 7 and scroll… There’s something wrong with me
Now I understand why Hellwig was so against multiple language codebases. Working on a React frontend, Ruby and Rust backend, the pain is real. I understand that I'm also too dumb to understand Linux kernel on C, yet alone with Rust and C together.
The tough week is finally behind me. Trying to get this pull request merged took all my week. Did I get it merged? Nah not yet, but that's an issue the me on Monday will face. Now rest!
Monday blues is on. A workweek passes in a month. A weekend passes in a second. It is not fair!
Starter packs are extremely underrated in BlueSky. I was quickly brought up to speed instead of looking for accounts to follow one by one.
Every new problem set I face, I feel like I'm not cut out to do this whole development thing, then I somehow grok it, then the next problem shows up and it is the same thing all over again. Tell me I'm not alone.
Was a tiring day at work today. Reading code is more tiring than writing it. What's everyone else up to nowadays, anything exciting going on?
I tried following some developers but immediately regretted it. Everyone's just sharing politics stuff. I must be following the wrong developers.
Okay I really need to make bsky my home but I don't have enough people to bring in fresh posts. I need to follow a bunch of people. I don't care about follow backs or whatnot. Just gimme good developer accounts to follow y'all <3
I am not used to getting reactions on social media since I live a secluded life but apparently it is a nice feeling.
I'm no longer friends with Arch Linux. Now NixOS is my best friend (send help). I'm really happy with NixOS (really, help). It is so easy to use (it is a nightmare, please save me).
