I'm in the kitchen with a 2 day old doughnut and some Ethiopian coffee. It's 80 degrees here. This beautiful Ryoko Akama CD is just the thing- long, lingering notes, and silence, and not quite silence. some of my favourite performers on here, specifically Cyril Bondi, and Stefan Thut.
Kali Malone 'Studies for Organ (Rehearsal Demo Tape). A nice bit of droney organ. Five years old now. Hanne Lappard 'PigeonPostParis'. Her voice acts on me a bit like Kali's droney organ and there is music chiming in the background. A favourite tape of mine by a fascinating artist. #cassunday
Xanthoceras sorbifolium looking good just now. I recommend this for a trouble free spring flowering large shrub. The leaves are equally delightful having a narrow fern-like appearance. This is in the driest most sandy soiled part of our garden but is completely reliable.
New DJ Mitmitta Ethiopian tape on Ultraaani. His first tape is a long time favourite and came in an Ethiopian fabric pouch. The new tape features a bunch of keyboard instrumentals often simply a band jamming to fill up the end of a tape where they'd just backed a singer. #cassunday

Just added this Jan. 31, 1912 performance by Zaki Mourad (b. Alexandria 1880; d. Cairo 1946), protege of Abd Al-Hayy Hilmi (whose face is the album's cover) and father of the star Layla Murad, to this album.

Bought this delightful Early Music 'Old Strings' (Jon Collin) tape last month. There is a repress available now. I like to follow it with the equally lovely Francesco Covarino 'Nido' tape which seems to me to be cut from the same cloth. Pure weightlessness. #cassunday
I'm convinced our 'Mount Fuji' Cherry is the best tree in town at the moment. We planted it in January 2000 when it was just a foot high. It's only 7ft high now but it's about 25ft wide.

We planted Holboellia coriacea 20 years ago. Evergreen with very fragrant white/green flowers it does well for us but this is the first year it has fruited. Just the one fruit but it is December 20th. Never expected fruit just got it to cover a wall and provide a good nesting site for Blackbirds.
Christmas around Europe on Radio 3 today. I always look forward to it- best day of programming in the year. There were a few adverts telling me to ask my smart speaker (I don't have one) to 'play Radio 3', but even that couldn't ruin it. Hardly listen to Radio 3 at all now due to all that nonsense.
With a terrible cover and hefty £3 or so price tag you could be forgiven for thinking you don't need this record, but I'm almost certain you do. I mean, it's not going to do you any harm whereas frittering another fortune on a swirly plum label variant archive copy of something, well...MAIS QUE NADA
