Hi everyone, today me and 22 others at Double Fine were hit by layoffs today. All the people who lost their jobs today care so much about the games they make and the people they work with. If anyone is looking for a tools SE with 7 years of experience and who brings baked goods on Mondays lmk.

I don't think you can be anti-IP and also indignant about genAI stealing everything that was ever made to train its models. If you think that's bad, you think IP has some value. Whether IP law is in need of *many reforms* is another matter (hint: it is)

The improv workshop has become such a highlight of my week that I'm struggling to understand why I ever stopped. Just life stuff I think. Work got busy, my schedule got weird, COVID was clearly a factor for a while. Other creative projects took free time. But I could have made more of an effort.

Played a game called Mind Meld at the workshop the other day, which is where two people say any two words simultaneously, then two more people come in and simultaneously say whatever word they think feels like is somehow conceptually between those words. When you say the same word, you win.

My first experience working in a big company was the BBC. That wore me down because they'd be constantly making decisions that harmed its workers while trying to explain to us 'but hey you work at the BBC so that's good.' This idea we should be happy just to be there
