Once again, our media ignores war, minors being assaulted in ICE custody, record debt, trade war w Canada... Because they can get salacious bigot-clicks fearmongering about girlpeen. Meghan Hall is just #trashy. As are the editors at USA Today who allowed space to be taken on this polyester hate.

I flew out to New York to talk to people on the ongoing debate around the WNBA and transgender athletes and people. Here’s video from today’s protests outside Barclays, including perspectives from both side of the conversation. Story to come.

1. American Bar Association announces intent to investigate John Roberts for misconduct. 2. John Roberts approves ballroom construction. 3. Trump admin moves to strip ABA of power. They're not even trying to hide it.

Conspiracy theory that's going to turn out 100% correct in short time: The WNBA discourse about Sophie Cunningham is a culture war distraction for right wing bigots to avoid talking about Pussolini.

The MCU's approach to Hulk annoys me: He learned to control the Hulk offscreen. He had a romantic arc begin and end with Black Widow offscreen. He became an alien gladiator offscreen. He became a professor offscreen. Can we actually SEE his major decisions for once? "Show, don't tell" etc?

I just overheard somebody mockingly suggest that the internet is the only source for information "because there is no Wikipedia building." Libraries, y'all. Libraries are "The Wikipedia Building."

People will keep using Google search that they know includes AI, keep using Google Maps that they know includes AI, keep buying iPhones they know contain AI, stay on social media they know is being used to spy on us, and then condemn Hank Green for using that tech to read cancer research papers.

I was bummed they announced Blade in the first place. It robbed us of any chance we'd see Ali play Cottonmouth on Luke Cage again. Marvel had one in the hand and went for two in the bush.

Doomsday looks like 'Last Days' with a lil 'AvX.' The multiverse (meh) is physically crashing together, and now it's the XMCU and the MCU finally crashing. Each planet's supers either problemsolve or try to destroy the other. Doom finds a solution: Merge them into Battleworld. Now, Secret Wars.

If you have a hot take on Avengers, it's probably best to look at the graveyard of commenters who thought The Odyssey would bomb. Internet communities are echo chambers.

To everyone posting O Brother as some kind of protest: The Coen Bros don't want any part of your weird anti-Black Odyssey thing. They don't like you either.

The Odyssey was excellent. It more clearly connects hubris and war than the translation you might have read. It's also maybe the best action choreography of any Nolan film, and the plot didn't drag despite a 3-hour run time. Could've used a little more emotion during homecoming, but overall? 9/10.

Hot (unimportant) Take: Making MMO games is why Bethesda declined so much as a developer. Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout '76 charge ~$15/mo, plus the game itself. There was no financial incentive left to make another single-player Fallout or Elder Scrolls. It all goes back to "Horse Armor."
