At the end of this interview with Graeme Scott, Connor Leahy is asked what an ordinary person should actually do. He first talks about how your buddies will help you accomplish goals such as spending more time at the gym. Hard things require a circle of support.

I was glad to have a great discussion with Esty and @ai-legal.bsky.social on this show today. Thanks for having us! If you are concerned about the development of AI, consider contacting your lawmakers with simple tools from @controlai.com.

🎙️On today's show, Esty Dinur is joined by two AI researchers, Julie Derwinski and @kevinlotto.bsky.social, to talk about the risks of AI and the need to stop the race for super intelligence. Listen here: www.wortfm.org/the-chief-da...

This was quick and easy! I left a voicemail for my senators expressing my concern about the development of superintelligence, and asked them to speak publicly about it and support legislation.

US Senators are on their State Work Period. Today would be a GREAT day to call them and let them know your concerns about the development of superintelligence. @controlai.com has a simple, easy to use tool for connecting you with your senators. Call this number or click the link in the reply.

OpenAI wrote in its own disclosure that it expects this to become more common as models get more capable. The public should get a say before that happens. Tell your lawmakers ASAP that you don't consent to this reckless race. Learn more: www.torchbearer.community

I volunteer with Torchbearer because of arguments like this one. The ants die because nobody thought about them. I would like humanity to be thought about.

When humans build a dam, we don't check for anthills first. @andreamiotti.bsky.social, CEO of @controlai.com, describes to @frankfukuyama.bsky.social of @stanfordcddrl.bsky.social why a superintelligent AI could destroy us without ever hating us. Worth 40 seconds. 🧵

"Imagine we're driving in thick fog and we know somewhere there's a cliff but we don't know where." The industry's response is to speed up. Connor Leahy gives Joel Beasley of Modern CTO a good idea of how AI companies are building systems they admit they don't understand.

The film highlights a terrifying truth about advanced AI. The AI character explains that human extinction will not happen out of malice. When we are no longer the most intelligent species, we simply lose control over how the world operates and become an unfortunate native species in the environment.

"Because I'm going to be smarter than you" This clip is from a new short film by Foregone Films on the race to develop superintelligence. Please watch the full 16 minute film (link below) to help understand the dangers of ASI and the industry that’s racing to build it.

A common argument against AI regulation asks what happens if superintelligence (ASI) is impossible. This clip from Siliconversations covers many of the paths to ASI that an AI model could take, and why it's likely NOT impossible. But if it turns out it IS impossible, why regulate it?

If the UK can successfully establish the framework for monitoring precursors like compute thresholds, it provides a realistic blueprint for the international agreements we desperately need. Hopefully, MPs recognize the leverage they have right now to lead on this globally.

For the first time, there is a real bill to prohibit the development of superintelligence. And right now, UK MPs are deciding which bills they will bring to Parliament. One of those slots could go to protecting the UK and all of humanity from the threat of superintelligence.
