I was proud to visit SF's On Lok Senior Center to hear about the great services they provide to seniors in the community. Funded by Medicare and Medi-Cal, programs like theirs reflect exactly why I fight to protect public healthcare in Congress.

No one should become paralyzed or lose their life because of a drug that is legally available for consumer purchase. That's why I introduced the Nitrous Oxide Safety Act-- to help prevent these tragedies and protect others from the devastating consequences of nitrous oxide addiction.

Driverless vehicles have the potential to transform road safety, but the technology is still evolving. Strong oversight is essential to prevent unnecessary traffic delays and ensure emergency responders can reach people quickly during a crisis.

61 years ago today, Medicare & Medicaid were signed into law, expanding access to health care for millions. Despite promises to protect Medicare, Trump & Republicans cut nearly $1 trillion from Medicaid, kicking 10 million Americans off the program while funding tax breaks for his wealthy friends.

Seconds matter during a crisis- we’ve seen too many incidents of AVs interfering with police, fire fighters & paramedics. Today I introduced the AV Emergency Response Coordination Act with @sfgov.sf.gov to ensure that AV companies provide clear emergency response protocols for first responders.

Happy Disability Pride Month! Today marks 36 years since the signing of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), a monumental law that protects disabled individuals from discrimination in crucial areas like employment, transportation, and housing.

Trump's war with Iran is out of control - the American people, and again Congress, have made it clear that we disapprove. That's why today I again voted YES on the Iran War Powers Resolution. House Democrats were successful in forcing this vote, and we will keep up the pressure to end this war.

In the last week alone, ICE has shot killed two more people on our streets – neither of whom were targets of their operations.  The inhumanity and racism from the Trump Administration and his rogue assassins are making our communities less safe.

Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking with Mission Hospice CEO Shelly Wingard. It was great to hear firsthand how Mission Hospice has been dedicating itself to helping patients with serious illnesses live life to the fullest.

It's unacceptable that a government shutdowns block lifesaving medicines from reaching patients. I introduced a bill to ensure the FDA's review of drug and device applications continues regardless if the government shuts down - political gridlock shouldn't stand between people and their healthcare.

Today is the 158th anniversary of the 14th Amendment. Last week, the Supreme Court reaffirmed that this amendment guarantees birthright citizenship is a constitutional right, not a privilege that can be revoked by a president.

I've heard too many stories of parents losing their children to this deadly addicition. That's why I introduced the bipartisan Nitrous Oxide Safety Act so that no more families have to lose their loved ones to this dangerous drug.
