It has become abundantly clear to me that the only way to handle this problem is to bar unserious people from participating. We as the public can do that by ignoring them, by talking about other shit, and by never, ever treating their absurd and risible ideas as serious.
In honour of my pathologist father Kim Solez's move to Professor Emeritus at @ualberta.bsky.social, I presented him with two silly little list poems, one of which I made into a meme. Here I am caught in the act + the meme. I hope you, too, find it amusing.
This is very cool. I speculated that unusual sounds in alpine languages may be due to the retrievability of sounds in that acoustic environment, and this language is more evidence of the same.
