We braved the showers today for another Super Shipley Street Surgery - on Kendall Avenue with Cllr Anna Watson. Very positive feedback from residents, plus concerns about speeding traffic, anti-social driving and the unlawful use of fireworks late at night. We'll do our best to help as always.
Great to be out in the sunshine earlier with fellow green councillors Anna Watson and Hawarun Hussain, meeting residents on the Higher Coach Rd estate in Shipley! Listened to concerns about speeding traffic, parking on pavements and bin issues - we'll do our best to help!
Super time earlier on with my Green councillor colleague Hawarun Hussain and residents from Maddocks Street, Rhodes Street and nearby, at the wonderful Street party organised by Erin and her neighbours! A welcome way to ease back from my summer break!
Chris Philp is the political equivalent of a stain on your carpet. Don't know how it got there; can't get rid of it; mostly forget about but when you notice it you get irritated all over again.
Wow! Had a fantastic meeting with the team at the Muslim Women’s Council in Shipley this morning, along with Cllr Hawarun Hussain! They run wonderful projects that benefit residents across the District. And we love their plans for their new centre on Saltaire Road! share.google/BrKVFYVLOjK4...
Hats off to our amazing ‘People Can’ Council team for their help clearing the snicket running up past the Park St Rec earlier today, plus the work they later carried out in Roberts Park in Saltaire! We appreciate all you do for our community!

What a day for a sunny Saltaire Play Street?! Greatly enjoyed my time this morning with Erin, Phillippa and dozens of other parents and families in their tranquil traffic-free stretch of road by Rhodes Street in Saltaire! 🥳☀️🌴
Have to say, LOVE the sheep in Shipley town centre. Put a smile on my face yesterday.
Enjoyed my hour in the sun earlier in Shipley with police and council colleagues, meeting members of the public and catching up on everyone's wonderful efforts to look after our community!
If it is a rainy Thursday afternoon, then it’s time to help keep our school streets safe for our children! Many thanks to the parents at St Walburga’s Primary School for your time and consideration today!
Not gonna lie. Feeling very grumpy about the shuttered state of the former Coop store on Saltaire High Street. Nearly three years on from its closure, the Coop have failed to sub-let the lease on the premises that they apparently hold until 2030. Totally unacceptable and time the Council stepped in.
A small selection of the street furniture around Shipley recently cleaned up at the request of your Green councillors! #goodbyegraffiti

Out earlier today with my Shipley councillor colleague Anna Watson for our first post-election street surgery! Had a great time basking in the spring sunshine and chatting with Dockfield residents!
The ancient ritual of the ‘Taking in of ye olde Poster Boards’ marks the end of our 2026 election campaign. Our thanks to the 3747+ residents who voted Green, from Anna, Hawarun, myself and our super local party team here in Shipley!
