Yale researchers sequenced the full genomes of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto from deer ticks. They read all 1 million letters of full Lyme bacterial genome, allowing them to trace its presence back at least 60k yrs, which means Lyme bacterium has been circulating North America, perhaps longer.

A friend of mine found these three kittens behind a Bay Area gas station. They are tame, vaccinated, and incredibly affectionate. Unfortunately, she's unable to keep them and I'm trying to find them a home. They are at risk of going to a shelter. Bay Area people, are you open to adopting?
