POPULAR MISCONCEPTION: I’ve met so many people struggling with ADHD recently and they all seem to think that if they’re prescribed meds now they’ll be stuck on them forever. In my experience the meds allowed me the vision and clarity to add structure to my life such that I didn’t need them anymore.
So like, in theory you could have a trans woman who has had no exposure to cis women; whose thoughts and actions related to femininity are entirely kinda telegraphed in. It gets less hypothetical when you factor in how our society’s shared mass misogyny can kinda mask out the women in our lives.
The only thing I tend to be gatekeep-y about is internalized misogyny. So often in the femboy-to-transwomen pipeline I encounter folks who desperately NEED to have it wrung out of them. No, you can’t refer to all women as “bitches” anymore. You can’t leave the seat up. We’re all on the same team now
Honestly, this post what inspired me to go!  It turned the con into an easy, inexpensive day trip on a motorcycle where I could shed my gear immediately upon arrival. More conventions should advertise this kinda thing, you’d be surprised how many people ride out!
