I'm guessing that the US voted against the UN resolution to promote the Equal Earth map projection merely because it has the word "equal".

I just learned that a friend rearranged a piece of music I wrote 26 years ago for our 21-bell chime, and has expanded it for 4-octave carillon, to be premiered in Cleveland in October (although there was a test run in Mechelen, Belgium earlier this summer).

What the hell happened to academia while I was on vacation???

I just came across a list I made when we moved to a new house 13 years ago and weighed everything that was in the first load of stuff (before I gave up keeping track). Totals include: 133 lbs CDs 137 lbs games/toys 288 lbs kitchen stuff 1200 lbs books 1820 lbs vinyl records

I'm currently trying to learn to understand the low-level details of hardware interrupts, which is something I never got to do in the 1980s.
