Well… surprise! Long time no see everybody! A few folks found out already, but I’m at Anthrocon! I’ve missed you guys SO very much, and I totally meant to make a thread to catch you up on the past year of medical ups and downs… but I’m so happy to be here and back online! 🩵

Really putting my vulnerability out there, but there’s so much on my mind today. I especially wanted to share to those who are feeling the same. I think this journal entry might encapsulate it the best that I can. Dogdays forever and always.🤎 [Alt text is provided]

Cypress,
I can’t believe it’s been a year since we lost you.

A year out, and things still don’t feel like they’re real. There are still days where something or someone reminds me of you, and find myself suddenly overwhelmed with tears… or sometimes even laughter. My most recent experience with both was when I was driving to a furry music show in Baltimore and saw one of your tags in passing. It was the first time I ever saw one in person, and though it made me well up in tears it was the best part of the night. This past year I’ve gotten to connect with so many of your amazing friends and family.

I was tied to meeting you through two chance connections, and now through you it’s still constantly branching off into many more.
[TEXT CONTINUED ON NEXT IMAGE]Even now I’m still coming across new people and we instantly form a unique bond sharing our memories that we had with you. It’s incredibly beautiful, because even though you’re now physically gone I keep learning more and more about you

You were, and still are, SO loved.
Your family is incredible, they’re preserving and showcasing your creations and your life. They’re doing an amazing job honoring your legacy, and helping more people see your work.
Your friends, and the furry community in general, have been amazing coming together for you. People sharing their stories, photos, and art they created alongside you, I never felt more closer to you (and my love for the fandom) than everyone gathering like in your memory.

There was an incredible turnout at your service last July. It was amazing to hear that some folks, even if they’ve never met you in person, came all the way out just to pay their respects and honor you. You had (and STILL have) that much of an impact on people, and will FOREVER hold a special place in people’s memories and the fandom’s history.

If I had more space, I could keep writing on for pages and pages. But I think this is where I’ll leave it for today.

I genuinely think I’ll have you on my mind for the rest of my life.
And I actually really like that, I’ll be continuing to carry your memory and inspiration with me.

Oh DMV furs… you can never make me not love yall.🩵 Was at the tidal basin this weekend with my family so I wasn’t able to suit at this GIANT meetup, but my dad and I DID run into y’all and the way you guys were with my dad (who had NO idea about the event) was priceless!
