My p5 and Basic inspired creative coding environment for the 8-bit Nintendo Famicom / NES is nearing completion, with a new name - BITBAS. Bit for 8-bit, low-bitrate and bitmap, and Bas for Basic. Parallel to the ROM itself I've been generating a user manual - this is from the cover page.

The app is now called PBNES. So P for the p5.js influence, and B for its BASIC programming language influence - also to disambiguate from the official p5 project, this is just a homage to p5, and the NES. The image here is a partial screen grab from the user manual

An update of this work in progress p5js inspired creative coding app for the 8-bit Nintendo Famicom / NES - demoing sine wave animation, randomised colour, size and XY positioning, vertexes, and rotation #processing #nesdev

I’m working on a loose adaptation / demake of p5js for the 8-bit Nintendo NES / Famicom. Here's a few demo shots. Instead of MouseX MouseY etc it can use DPAD1X DPAD1Y. It's compatible with the Famicom keyboard. Think of it as a simple Basic and Processing hybrid within the constraints of the NES
