I debuted my Acerby Kigurumi at #animeimpulseoc yesterday. It was a total blast! I met lots of cool people, but also found ways to improve my next update. Look forward to more pictures this week!
Getting fabric glue because some staples I did (too lazy to sew some bits) stabbed me during a first test fit. Broke some bits. Doing some upgrades but I think it’ll be good for next weekend. See yall at #animeimpulseoc
Redid some parts in thicker foam and it’s really coming together now that’s it’s painted. Next I’m redoing the shoulders and making shoe covers. My acerby #kigurumi will debut at Anime Impulse OC!
Finishing up the chest. I think I’ll need to use some hanger strips to reinforce the shape. Not exactly the form I had in mind, but the chest can always be swapped out for something larger. The connections are Velcro’s flaps that go under, and the sides use elastic to keep them flexible.
Finalized the acerby kigurumi mask. The sunglasses eyes give me so much extra vision and the hair feels like a counterweight. Very light feeling. The top crest is also on magnets so it can be posed up or down. GF kindly posing so I could photograph it.

Acerby #Kigurumi with hair? The parts are on a swappable connector. Most the design is modular too. Anyway I learned a lot from this, namely the puzzle tiles I’ve been holding onto are the wrong kind of foam. Oops. Looks good enough for my 1.0 still. Acerby Real!!!

Definitely made some parts too thin. This one melted and cracked apart while drying in the sun. I’m trying to to make it work, but 2.0 will be thicker
Now I’m sanding and smoothing with wood filler. Acerby kigurumi becomes more real by the day
Finally assembling Acerby Kigurumi 1.0. I already gave some modeling improvements lined up for the next try, but I intend to learn as much as I can from this one. I hope I’ll be able to take it to my next convention.
I’ve gotten really into girlpla models lately. It’s sucker my time away from kigu, but I know what my next kigu will be. Provided I get around to it.
