Read this before submitting to the Page Turner Awards!!I paid for a human-written critique from the Page Turner Awards (recommended by @reedsy_hq which I felt was reputable) and felt gut-punched to receive a document that sounded AI-generated. I’ve included examples in the slides.When I asked them about it, the founder Paula Sheridan (aka Paula Wynne) denied the AI use and refused to refund me, offering an inferior service instead.They won’t let me @ them, but you can find them at pageturnerawardsI am not a zealous AI witch hunter, nor am I taking this lightly. I support my fellow writers and hate seeing us taken advantage of, it’s so demoralizing.Calling out this concern is important to me because inserting other people’s work into an LLM without thier consent or knowledge is really easy to do and will become more prevalent—but it’s soooo VIOLATING. It doesn’t matter if you’re a contest, an agent, a publisher, a critique partner, etc, this is not okay.Page Turner Awards also runs contests and is launching a social media marketing platform, but I do not recommend them, I would stay very away. If a company is careless with your work for one service, they are probably careless with your work companywide. This is why we research literary agents before querying. You want an agent who understands how the agent-client relationship works. You don't pay your agent. Your agent takes a commission. If your agent is asking you to pay for representation, that's a huge red flag. #WritingCommunity #amquerying

Maybe unpopular opinion? I don't know. But I like the new Little House on the Prairie. Stellar cast all around. My only gripe is that tension never goes about about 50%. Which I guess is on brand, but I'd really like to see more vampires.
