Kosmod Dev

Human name: luke (he/him) Navigating the swampy mires of desire to perform versus the agony of being seen. Developing kosmod.app, a Web-based Virtual Tabletop! đźš« No AI please!

nothing better than surfacing from the api mines to have it all plug into the frontend and work first go. like watching a rube goldberg machine made of 100 "that will probably work" sentences. (now to poke the edge cases and see it all topple over and flatten me looney-tunes style)

Re-doing visuals for my tiny 2-minute dev short. I somehow think I spent too much and not enough time on this little interactive diagram. It's mean to illustrate the essence of the ~modulus~ (aka the remainder of a fraction) to loop in a range, which I'm using for a graphical effect. #gamedev

A screenshot of an interactive diagram illustrating a division equation, highlighting the remainder value (and it's relationship with the divisor).

Just finished up a little bit of pathfinding behavior, and decided to treat myself to give moved minis a bit of a "walk" animation. (I don't think they're landing on the grid squares correctly though...) #gamedev

A habit I am trying to kick is hesitating posting proper WIP stuff. That's what a devblog is for! Posting all the ugly in-between placeholder art and debug lines. I'm easing my way into that. This is a little logo piece I spent a few hours sketching together and rendering in blender! #gamedev

The text "Kosmod" carved out of a grey cube, with tiny features like walls, stairs, doors, drawbridges, trains and rocket ships visible in the cut out space.

In addition to a dev blog, this will also be a cat page because Tulip here refuses to not be involved in The Work. (Where involved means executing a hitherto yet undiscovered workflow-destroying keyboard shortcut, and then nuzzling the author to gain pets)

An adorable cat, sitting on a computer desk (blocking access to a keyboard)

The goal is to see and experience as many creative projects and wonders as possible on this site to be inspired But Not become immobilized by imposter syndrome working on my own project
