I’m a bit starched. NUFC fan.

This whole Bruno saga just proves that #nufc haven’t learned their lessson from Isak. It’s been allowed to rumble on. Set the price and a deadline, if Arsenal fail to meet that criteria then the player and his agent are told that he’s staying. End of. They have to set that precedent going fwd.

I think Howes greatest strength (his personal connection with the players) is also perhaps his biggest weakness as a manager. I think it has sometimes made him reluctant to make big calls or drop players that haven’t been performing. #nufc

This Jaissle appointment has the potential to go so wrong. The Premier League eats young and inexperienced coaches. He’s also joining a team which has sold all its best players and retained all the shit ones. It’s got car crash written all over it. #nufc

1 / The Isak saga continues to harm #nufc in so many ways. Allowing themselves to be bullied into selling him on deadline day has set a real precedent. Now we are seeing very similar tactics from Arsenal and I suspect that we will see Bruno delay his return to training. I’d put money on that.

I don’t care if Bruno goes, there’s no loyalty in football. He’s also 29, let him have a crack at the PL and UCL. However, he can only be allowed to leave if: ✅ 1 - Arsenal meet our valuation ✅ 2 - His replacement is signed If either of those two things don’t happen then he stays. #nufc

This transfer window has really laid bare the issues with spending restrictions. #nufc simply cannot compete. Villa are running into similar issues but are able to bring in players due to UCL qualification. Next year they’ll have to qualify for Europe again or fall into the same pit as us.

I think ultimately this is why Eddie Howe has remained #nufc boss. The club knew that this summer would prove to be difficult. Top names will have to go and replacing them will be unproven youngsters. Thats a hard sell to any new manager. Coaching a team of underdogs is arguably where Howe excels.

Just over four weeks until the start of the season. We’ve lost Ramsdale, Trippier, Gordon and Tonali. It’s likely that Bruno goes too. We’ve only signed ONE first team player in this window. So just to stand still we need to sign four players, one a week. No chance. #nufc

Clearly if Manzambi had a straight choice between #nufc and Villa the fee would be the same for both clubs. Villa have simply overpaid for the player to the tune of £10m. So Manzambi didn’t actually have a choice. I suspect the truth is that we refused to get into a bidding war and walked away.
