BREAKING: A court just struck down longstanding registration requirements for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns. These are highly regulated tools and weapons that have been regulated for nearly 100 years, or since the National Firearms Act (NFA) was enacted in 1934.

Is Mike Johnson implying that there are so many members of Congress committing domestic violence all the time that he can’t possibly keep track?
More on Johnson's position on Max Miller: “There’s all sorts of domestic events going on with 435 members of Congress all the time, it’s not my business to get engaged in it.” Inexcusable The evidence is massive www.politico.com/news/2026/08...
What you should know about Chuck Edwards resigning from Congress in the middle of the night is that there are still 2 men in Congress who have been credibly accused of abuse by multiple women: Max Miller and Cory Mills And what did Mike Johnson have to say? He called these “domestic events.”
I get that the gun industry is interested in feeding its bottom line, that much is clear. But we should all be interested in prevention that saves lives instead of waiting for the next mass shooting to happen.
Assault weapons are the weapon of choice for most mass shooters because they are designed to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible. Weapons of war have no place in our communities.
If our takeaway from Twin Falls is more guns everywhere, which is profitable for the gun industry, we’re taking away the wrong lesson. The immediate question is why this dangerous person had access to a weapon of war in the first place. 🧵
We aren’t safe in a guns everywhere America, not even at a drive-thru. The Twin Falls shooter is believed to have used an assault-style rifle, a weapon of war that has no place in our communities. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased and injured and the Twin Falls community.
Funny how this administration can suddenly find millions for gold statues but can’t find the money for gun violence prevention programs that save lives. Families who lost their loved ones to gun violence are being shown where the administration’s priorities really are.

We should focus on Rep. Max Miller’s reported armed abuse of his ex-wife and daughter, and the best way to do so, is for everyone, including his father-in-law, Sen. Bernie Moreno, to call for his immediate resignation.
Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) is the former father-in-law of Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio).
We fought for, and achieved, record progress in saving lives. Now Trump wants to undo all of that and put millions of lives at stake. Guns will be more likely than ever to end up in the hands of gun traffickers, domestic abusers, and children. Read my latest in @newsweek.com

The Apalachee shooter’s father gave his son a semiautomatic rifle AFTER police visited their home in response to a mass shooting threat made by his child. This defies all comprehension and now, 4 people are dead. Accountability for reckless and irresponsible behavior must be our standard.
Colin Gray’s prison sentence is about accountability and prevention. When adults leave firearms unsecured, the results can be catastrophic. Safely storing your gun stops gun violence before it happens. Four people should be here. This sentence won’t bring them back but it should be a wake-up call.
As Little House on the Prairie returns for a new generation, it reminds us that responsibility has always been part of the American story. The pioneers of the 19th century treated firearms with meticulous, survival-driven care. Today’s families can do the same. Read my latest Substack post ⬇️

U.S. military bases should be places of training & security. Instead, the House majority voted this week to make them places of crisis. Making it easier to carry personal firearms on base doesn’t make our troops safer. It makes preventable tragedy much more likely. More deadly political theater.
This week, the House passed an amendment to allow service members to carry personal firearms on military bases. The effect? Service members will be at even greater risk of gun suicide and other gun violence. Active-duty service member suicide deaths have exceeded combat deaths since 2001.
