Made “Samarkand Plov” from Caroline Eden’s Samarkand cookbook, but doubled the meat and didn’t add the cayenne, to effectively transform it into плов по-казахски, much to the delight of my Kazakh dinner guests.
Apparently this is the *only* vinyl record sold at *any* of 4 Meloman stores in Almaty, so I am now the proud owner of 1 from of a 200-copy pressing. Probably the fanciest record I own and certainly the most expensive.
Appropriated some selections from my dad’s extremely legit vinyl collection for Father’s Day.
My child (with mom’s help) gifted me a fancy record player for Father’s Day, so I can really lean in to being authentically Middle Aged (tm). But, so far, said child has only allowed us to play the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack on it. 🎶🎶🎶🎶Gonna be, gonna be golden. 🎶🎶🎶🎶
