Fallout 76 had some binary code in one of its in-game purchase bundles today. 01001101 01100001 01100100 01100101 01111001 01101111 01110101 01101100 01101111 01101111 01101011 :)
My co worker’s biz partner has the corner office with windows here and he just told her he saw a blimp out the window and she quipped that we could probably catch it in Sky Cards. Lol just caught it
I just put my inaugural banana bread into the oven. I hope it turns out well. It has an automated preheat function and its own timer as well. So fancy. First time I’ve used the oven since I moved in. Took me a while to get the kitchen sorted enough.
@mxs510.bsky.social how was I not following you? Dang. I have now rectified the matter.
Another really terrible day. But what I want to tell you is that when I open my door at the end of the day and step into my home, there is still a faint scent of fresh paint, and it calms me down. It reminds me that I am home, and it is being cared for.
They don't want to acknowledge that the negligence and malevolence of their clueless Nero of a president is responsible for millions of Covid deaths, so they're desperately scapegoating a scientist whose competence helped save lives. These are the times we live in.
Some stuff really sucks right now. So, what I want to tell you is that the sunset light that comes into my new home makes me incredibly happy and pleased to be living here. Orangey fire streaming right into the bedroom and through to the kitchen, just absolutely pigmented and fierce
One of the funniest new home moments I had after moving in was opening up one of the kitchen island cabinets and moving the pot lid holder the previous owner had left behind, only to discover it was holding up the interior shelf, which immediately fell down. What a shady thing to do. :)
Getting the TV set up has really solidified that I live here. Banal, maybe, but
Started feeling anxious and sad, and I remembered that I had bought myself a solo board game to warm my own home, so I unboxed that and played a game. The game is called A Gentle Rain. I played badly on my first try, but I’m immediately going to play again. It’s definitely calming. Sweet. Hopeful.
Moving jumbles all habits. I was clearing up the last tidbits of things and had this heavy mallet hanging out with no good place to be packed in with other things. Stuck it in my backpack, and days later wondered why my pack was so danged heavy. Ha.
Had a dream that I (Alternate, high-school-aged me) got a call in the middle of the day - identifying me by name, confirming item pickup. I dismissed the call as a scam, as I had scheduled so such thing. Got home and everything of any value was gone. Felt awful having to tell Alternate Mom
Air quality is bad again, AQI 162, so even though it’s in the low 70’s tonight, gotta keep the windows closed and air filter running. :/
I’m at the lettuce parasite outbreak I’m at the air quality disaster I’m at the historic flooding I’m at the combination parasitic outbreak air quality flood
The wildfire smoke has permeated my home. I just lugged my air filter into my bedroom. I have HVAC in the new place, but the smell is just insistent, even though it’s gotten a little better outside. I was shocked at how I saw virtually no one with masks on this week. :/
Came home and passed out from being so tired. Tired from moving, tired from the wildfire smoke, tired from a day that was just the worst. I don’t know if I can keep up a positive attitude at this point. I’ve really tried. I feel broken.
It is incredibly hazy outside. And it does indeed smell smoky. Wearing my KN95 because fuck this.
Furious that Chris Nolan would disregard historical accuracy in adapting The Odyssey by making a "movie" with "cameras" instead of memorizing the entire story and then going on a nationwide tour to sing it to us while tripping on ergotized barley
OK about to head back for the final trip. I was pretty dehydrated, so I spent some time re-watching some Plur1bus (AKA Breaking Boundaries) and slugging down a bunch of liquid IV. Still crazy to me how much it helps to drink that stuff. I feel so much better than I did an hour ago.
I have gone through three t shirts today, just sweating and sweating. Ugh. One more car load to go.
Today is the last day I can be in the old apartment, so I took yesterday and today off to make time for the last crap, along with aforementioned audition helping. I am drenched in sweat, and I’ve not been here long. This heat wave is exhausting.
Dinner was cheese and salami and roasted savory cashews and almonds because I want protein and fat but also nothing that has even locked eyes with raspberries or lettuce or
Helping out with auditions for a musical tonight, and I’m killing it with locating the printer on wifi for last minute headshots, calling no-shows, and just keeping things moving.
I really like sifting, when I move. Open a box, take out things I need and want, put the partially empty box to the side. Combine boxes as I open them, discarding empties (if damaged beyond further use), keep going. Today I made visible progress because I sifted 5 or 6 boxes and put dishes away.
