This has been obvious to anyone paying close attention. Unfortunately most of Canada's political leaders (Smith, Moe, Kinew, Ford, Eby, Carney, Poilievre) were asleep during class. They've yet to learn the road to fossil fuels is a dead end #EnergyTransition #CleanTech www.bbc.com/news/science...

World shift to clean energy is unstoppable, IEA report says

The world is shifting rapidly to clean energy but still investing too much in fossil fuels, the IEA says.

Incredibly brazen for the Prime Minister to boast about the “lasting benefits” of expanding fossil fuel production on a day like today. Record-breaking heatwaves. Toxic smoke engulfing cities and towns. Out of control wildfires forcing entire communities to evacuate. /1

The world wants to do more with Canada. Our MOU with Alberta will unlock those opportunities in energy — and create lasting benefits for Canadians.

The Pathways MOU offers... 🤑 More public funding 💨Fewer emissions reductions 🚫 No binding commitments The new Pathways MOU raises questions about whether a West Coast pipeline is truly contingent on carbon capture — and what happens if it doesn't proceed. ⬇️

Ottawa, Alberta and oil producers sign non-binding deal on scaled-back carbon capture plan

The federal government committed to developing options to help cover carbon capture operating costs, without specifying how or how much.

Carney’s national food strategy is far from a complete plan. It would be nice if more reporting presented it as such

Canada has lost millions of he... www.cbc.ca/news/politic... Carney’s Food Security Strategy has zero dollars for food production- it all goes to AI and tech adoption and greenhouses. It may even push farm prices down by promoting competition among suppliers -> making farmland even less affordable.

Alberta and Ottawa said any new pipeline would be privately funded. Today that promise was broken: a private company will cover just 10%. Taxpayers will front up tens of billions of dollars. If oil exports are such an economic opportunity for Canada, why won’t companies invest? buff.ly/Ao6yGt3
