The stunning Swallowtail butterfly (British race britannicus) only to be found in the Norfolk Broads. Despite a very windy, mostly overcast day, I was lucky enough to get some close up views #butterfly
Last night I had approximately 50 Silver Y moths visit my garden at sunset. They were all nectaring on the flowers, no doubt taking a pit stop after a long flight. Never seen so many in one place. Did anyone else see such numbers? #teammoth

Yesterday’s #mothmonday trap yielded over 100 moths, 47 species (although there were inevitable escapees) & an exciting 8 NFG. Pictured are some of my favourites; a fresh and shiny Burnished Brass, a Small Magpie, a fresh & NFG Campion and the Shears #teammoth

Thought I’d squeeze in another moth trap as the weather looks set to be unsettled with more cold nights for the foreseeable 🙈 33 moths, 13 species & 3 NFY; the Lychnis, Turnip & White-point. I’ve thrown in a Rustic-shoulder knot simply because I like it #teammoth
Last night’s moth trap yielded 26:16, 1 NFG (White-spotted Pug) & 7 NFY. Highlights included 5 Light Brocade, a Pale Mottled Willow, a Buff Ermine & a Rustic shoulder-knot #teammoth

The Duke of Burgundy butterfly 🧡 Sadly it has suffered a massive decline & in the UK can only be found in parts of England #butterfly
