In the end I don't think many people questioned whether the characters in Find Matt's Cats were real or not. Players generally knew the gag or they didn't.
Despite everyone being more online than ever, it's getting harder to actually contact people privately. Emails get sent to spam, Discord makes me do captchas, DMs from strangers are hidden on a lot of platforms. Everything sucks now.
lol is that Kenny the game assets guy appearing in my captchas?!
Starting to appreciate how convenient CDs are 'cause you don't have to flip them half way through.
Reading comments on r/Singularity and so many people are clueless about what the negative impacts of superintelligence are likely to be. Dumb AI can already destroy our communications platforms, hack infrastructure and replace many jobs. There's no safety net going forward.
Here's a preview of the level I finished today.
>About to buy a recent metal album. >Goddammit the cover art is AI-generated. Would it bankrupt a band to use a photo of a gothic castle rather than generating a fake one?
Recently picked up this CD and this art takes me back to when DeviantArt was good.
When CEOs argue that AI will revolutionise coding productivity, I wonder... what are they producing that's so important? Huge tech companies already had the resources to make anything, and all they've made for a long time is garbage products.
Fuck yeah, successfully passed a difficult credit questionnaire to prove my identity and to avoid installing the gov's face-scanning app.
Calling the tax man to complain about their new system. Just wasting their time in return for wasting mine.
Signing up for Making Tax Digital. UK gov's new system that small businesses must use. I need to submit docs to prove my identity, even though the gov already has those. They're simplifying taxes by making me use multiple tax accounts and 3rd party software... I hate this shit.

Made 11 new levels for Find Matt's Cats so far. 3 more to go and that'll be 2 worlds, and I'll be able to wrap up a big update.
Last few weeks I've been consuming a lot more media than usual - novels, art books, events, video games, TV... and it's making me want to be more creative... but it's also taking up a lot of my time, so I have little time to create anything. Tragic.
Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%
Reddit's been showing me video tutorials about destroying Flock surveillance cameras and it's some of the most inspiring content I've seen.
Playing Contract Rush DX today. Very charming run-and-gun. Strongly recommend it.
Had some fun with random markers I found around the house.
This book is a good introduction to life in an apartheid system. This was 15 years ago and it was already horrific.
eBay is trying to tell me something...
I've historically been pretty bad at making art just "for fun" and not for work, but I've finally started making some that I cannot share online. So that feels pretty cool.
Love that in the UK small businesses are now required to do bookkeeping 5 times a year instead of once, while income tax creeps up every year. Meanwhile my investments generate about as much money with almost zero paperwork or taxes required. Wonder why no one wants to work.
I got an email from Google that the Play Store now supports micro-transactions as small as 5 cents. Uhhh.... great?
It's a good sign when every new level I'm making for Find Matt's Cats feels like the coolest level so far.
My diet was too successful and I lost 5kg in a month and started to randomly feel light-headed. Maybe also related to the heatwave. Started weightlifting again and feel pretty good.
