it always shocks me that these types of messages/asks are as common as they are. is it not a universal experience to follow amazing artists that draw characters you don't even give half a shit about? half the artists i follow are in fandoms i've never touched or experienced,,

I pity these people, I really do. Imagine being so unemployed that you are entitled to what the artist draws and threaten to unfollow them if they don't meet your specific demands. If you don't pay their bills, then you're not their boss.

I'm going to change my approach for my artwork, because what I'm doing now isn't working. Maybe strictly Azur Lane stuff, maybe strictly vore stuff, I don't know. I tried doing the jack-of-all-trades approach to satisfy everyone, but all it did was burn me out quicker.
