We tell our kids "always help when you can but if you can't help, at the very least, don't hurt." I think about this with these primary slug-fests. Your preferred candidate didn't win? Bummer. Do you want the Republican to have that seat? Then help the Democratic candidate. But don't hurt.

Men are way too fucking comfortable treating women like we're fucking stupid. Have I been in my field for 23+years? Have I worked for my company for 20+years? Have I done my specific job for 13+years? Don't talk to me like I'm stupid because you don't understand what I'm asking.

It's common knowledge that one of the most dangerous times for a woman is after she leaves an abusive man. It's terrifying to then, with shared custody, let that man have access to your child. Knowing his anger and violence issues, you will do almost anything to try to keep him calm and happy.
