If you make it ten years in the chemistry department, apparently you get a really cool Lego version of you (although it's been at least five years since I've actually worn a lab coat)

So at around 9:20 this morning, I was in my classroom preparing for class – getting my slides ready and setting up the recording – and my phone buzzed. We were told to shelter in place.

We've had over a week of significant rain, public K-12 schools have been closed since Friday, and last week we had power outages, trees down, and area roads flooded. Today, as the rains finally end, we finally got an email from the university about inclement weather. Seems timely.

I walked into my classroom this morning and these two lists of names were written in the whiteboards. My class could not determine what the prompts were for these except the second name is a TV character.

A whiteboard with the names Diddy, Stewey Griffin, Helen Keller, Pope Francis, and John Locke written on it.A whiteboard with the names Margaret Thatcher, Young Sheldon, Mom, Ted Bundy, and Jojo Siwa written on it.
