It's trickier than it looks due to the bounce mechanics. Levels are short and the game is pretty easy, but worth checking out!

While the gameplay is fun, the biggest problem is that the game and stages drag on and it becomes very repetitive by the end. Still, I enjoyed it a lot more than the GB Smurfs 2

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.108 Felix the Cat (GB). A port of the NES original. And just as the original, this is an excellent platformer! It's very easy, but the transformations as powerups are really fun, the controls are tight and the level variety is decent. Recommended.

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.107 Obélix (GB). I had this game as a kid, but could never get past world 2. I'm glad I've now finally beaten it! Graphics and, especially, the music are very good. The platforming sections are very fun, but the special stages are super frustrating.

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.106 Ducktales (GB). I played the NES original a ton, but never the GB port. As with Ducktales 2, this is a pretty good port. The SFX are a bit too loud, so it drowns out the music, which is a shame. Other than that, the game is excellent and recommended.

I was so proud when I finally managed to find all the treasures! While nowadays I probably prefer the NES original, there is no denying this is an excellent port!

One of my faborte MD games. Great graphics, great gameplay, great music. An example of when a brawler is done right!

A solid budget RPG with fun customizable combat, great QoL features (toggle encounters & EXP), excellent music, and non-linear progression. The story is forgettable, but the gameplay makes it an easy recommendation for JRPG fans.

While he wasn't a gamer, playing the best golf game of all time felt like a good way to commemorate him.

The game is well written and very interesting. Cutscenes are nice, as is music. I like narrative driven games, so it was very enjoyable for me.

Expect lots of cheap deaths and blind jumps. Also, that final part with the beams drove me crazy. It's allright, but there are better MM games.

It's funny and, self-aware, and your choices and bugs found decide the path you take to the end. Replayability is high, so I will for sure come back to this title.

It controls well and isn't overly difficult, though strangely, stage 5 is much harder than the final stage. Regardless, check this one out!

Objectively it's not a good game, yet for some reason, I did really like it. It's charming and it's very easy.

Its minimalist presentation and steadily evolving mechanics create a satisfying sense of progression. It's not super hard or long, so give it a go!

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.83 Toree Saturn (NSW). Siactro has done it again with a super fun Toree game. They nailed the Saturn aesthetic, as well as having a banging 90's electronic music soundtrack. The final stage is a great arcade throwback as well. Recommended of course!
