It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

I’m probably gonna have to start posting time lapses with all my art now because if I get one more “is it just me or does this look like ai?” I’m actually gonna go play in traffic 💥☠️💥 I haven’t spent nearly 30 years working on my art just so I can get written off as a fucking bot.

Making this as a list of to-dos to hold myself accountable and to also recognize how completely off the rails weird my job as an indie artist is. Let’s go! First up after taking care of five cats and a dog: feed myself. Then woodglue some laser cut sawtooth hangers together …

Four years ago this week sweet Hildegard dog, the most special pup flew off in a rainbow powered spaceship. She was truly one-of-a-kind, and while I miss her every day, we’re also so lucky to have shared this physical plane with her for as long as we did.

A cute brown dog named Hildegard running in a very green grass field. Her mouth is open and this is happy.

echoing something I saw here recently: do not accuse someone of using generative Ai unless you KNOW you're right. you can totally screw an artist, writer, musician, etc. with erroneous accusations like that.

I can’t remember where I talked about this last week but I am troubleshooting my #lasercutter, which went down before San Jose Oddities and now I have a flashlight strapped to the lid to trick the camera into letting me make stuff again. Technology is basically magic 😂

Before the show doors open my stomach always flip-flops and my brain can only imagine that everyone who stops by my booth will throw a pie in my face. WHERE DID THE PIES EVEN COME FROM

My laser cutter broke down right in the middle of a huge push before I drive to San Jose, CA this week for Oddities & Curiosities Expo. Good times, good specially since I’m always super creative before a big deadline! Maybe I should change that 😂

I’ve been fixated on designing/hand-lettering my new logo for so long (6-8 weeks) that any more work is gonna mess it up. And so it is done … … other than creating a few color options 😅

New logo graphic design for LABCREATURE, with green all caps text in a retro Stephen King kinda serif font that says on the top: Art prints, paintings, apparel, stickers, and cat toys. Then a blue-green hand lettered logo that says “LABCREATURE TM, Cats, Cryptids & UFOs.” Underneath that, in the same style as the top it says “Original illustrations by David Bigler”.

I’ve been working on hand-lettering our new labcreature logo for the past few weeks. It has been one of the most difficult design challenges I’ve ever had because I am my own worst client. I can’t wait to share it with you later this week! #logodesign
