🧪 Is it a fair test? Imagine two plants receiving different amounts of water, but one is placed beside a sunny window and the other in a dark corner.  What caused the difference in growth: the water or the light?

How can AP Biology teachers build students’ confidence with data? Data analysis & visualization skills are increasingly important on the AP Biology exam, but students often need more practice interpreting data, creating graphs, describing variability, and connecting data back to biological concepts.

What does a microbiologist do? #Microbiologists study microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi, across a range of industries. Their work may include identifying microorganisms that affect health and the environment, developing antibiotics and vaccines, and conducting research.

Explaining your PhD to your uncle at a family dinner is not the same as writing a grant proposal. Different audience, different medium, different style, but a lot of scientists use the same approach for both, and wonder why their message doesn't land.

Coral bleaching is one of the clearest warning signs of a warming ocean. In this interactive spreadsheet simulation, learners use reef temperature and location data to explore how high ocean temperatures threaten marine biodiversity and coastal communities.

Sunscreen protects your skin, but it can damage coral reefs.  Rockets put humans on the moon and they also carry missiles.  AI can help seniors live independently or power autonomous weapons.

Did you know? For young children with an ear infection, flying can worsen ear pain because pressure changes affect the middle ear. Plus, a common DIY remedy, plugging the nose and blowing, can actually rupture the eardrum.

When scientists communicate and collaborate, we all benefit from the results. By facilitating these connections, the Global Young Academy is improving how young researchers from around the globe work together on tackling the world's most pressing questions in science.

🐝 Bees do much more than make honey! According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), one honey bee colony can gather about 40 pounds of pollen and 265 pounds of nectar in a single year, pollinating more than 100 different crops, like fruits and nuts.
