1/2 Welcome Home #LACoFD USA-2! Family gathered yesterday to welcome home USA-2 from their @statedept mission in #Venezuela. Together, they affected many life-saving rescues, performed wide-area assessments, evaluated countless buildings for safety, and brought hope to the Venezuelan people.
From the rubble of La Guaira to recognition — the dogs of #LACoFD USA-2 were honored for their tireless work following Venezuela’s devastating earthquakes. These dogs worked alongside their handlers through collapsed structures & dangerous debris, searching for survivors when hope was running thin.
Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸 Today, we honor the courage & dedication of our USA-2 members as they continue to execute their @StateDept mission in #Venezuela. We also want to extend a huge shoutout to the logistical & family support teams back at home—you are also a vital backbone of this operation.
Happy 4th of July from the #LACoFD! Our first responders are on duty so residents & communities enjoy the holiday safely. Leave the fireworks to the professionals. For a list of professional fireworks shows in #LACounty, call the Fireworks Hotline at (888) 654-FIRE or visit fire.lacounty.gov.
Operations continue in #Venezuela, as USA-02 members, including canine search teams, continue to work on structures in some of the hardest-hit areas. Using specialized and heavy equipment, members are able to delayer the fallen structures and access spaces where survivors may still be trapped.
