I'm going to nag about this one until November: a gentle reminder NOT to mail in your absentee ballots using the post office. Instead, find a conveniently located official drop box. Ours is at the library. This is a photo of me actually using an actual drop box - see how easy? ☺️

By this time in September, most Amaryllis blooms have withered and died, but one morning a year ago today I encountered this late bloomer in a field. Being a bit of a late bloomer myself, I wanted to capture the moment. Flowers teach us about possibility. 🩷🩷🩷 Photo: 9-12-23
Oscar Wilde wrote: "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance." May you always feel loved and cherished, first and foremost by your beautiful Self. If only we could see our own grandeur.
To my friends who celebrate, wishing you sweetness and serenity as you enter the New Year. 💜🧡💜 #RoshHashanah

"We'll leave the light on for you" was such a successful advertising slogan because we're reassured by the thought of someone concerned enough about us to make sure we don't stumble in the dark. May you always feel so cared for. Good-night; sweet dreams. ❤️ 📷 "Porch Light," Ann, 12/2/21
On 9-9-20 due to a weather phenom keeping smoke high above us and letting only color rays through, the Bay Area turned deep orange. Strange but harmless. Henceforth, may the unexpected always be pleasant and reassuring, for all of us. 📷 Flower I photographed that day
Sure, it's the mid-terms and not a presidential election, but it's still one of the most crucial elections of our time. Make sure you're registered. Make sure you sign your ballot as you signed your voter registration card. And vote using an official ballot drop-box. 🇺🇲
Usually, woodpeckers two-step their way around trees before I can get my phone out of my pocket. This one, however, stayed. And I got this lovely image. Sometimes it works out. Happy Wednesday! ❤️ 📷 Ann, 9-9-25
The trees are just now turning; by November they'll show us their full splendor. I can wait. 🍂🍁

Another flower from this morning's walk. A lovely Agapanthus. 💜💚💜
From this morning's walk. I can never resist sunlight on roses. 💛🫶💛
I hope mine is a Redwood. But I'd be okay with a Sugar Pine - their bark smells like vanilla. 😊
Good morning, Friends. "Labor Day recognizes the contributions of laborers to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of the country." #HappyLaborDay
Good morning and happy Sunday. Here we have random worshippers walking down one of the main aisles of my favorite church. The congregation includes oaks, madrones, alders, buckeyes, and bay laurels. #hallelujah 📷 Ann, 5-24-25
"You’re not doomscrolling – you’re hopequesting. You need those tiny pieces of joy from seeing friends and strangers share their art, their good news, their wacky, unique selves. We need light to live. And we find it in each other." -Aaron Corwin 📷 Roses in Light 6-4-23
"For what we are, we are by sharing. And as we share, we move closer to the light." Good morning, Friends. Wishing you an excellent day. With lots of sharing. 💜🧡 📷 Ann, 1-4-24
I walked 4 miles today! After yesterday's rain, the morning was so sweet and fresh; the trees and grasses had that peppery rain-washed scent. This is one of my happy places on our walk - a redwood-lined path. #lifeisgood

Here comes the time of great beauty! September and October are my favorite months and I woke up this morning feeling energized and excited. Nature will bring some of her loveliest gifts over the next months. 🍁🍂 P.S. I forgot to say to you: 🐰🐰😊 📷 Ann, 10-23-22

Tomorrow is September 1st. Soon the weather will be changing. Be mindful of livestock before you start your car!
