aside from queer rights & medical advances which feel the biggest to me, it is nice to have any music I want on demand. you used to have to collect CDs or tapes & you generally could only listen to albums in order, making your own mix was a big effort. now you can pop out a playlist in like 10 mins

The burden is always on us lefties to welcome them, debate them, compromise with them, find middle ground, and generally make them comfortable. It’s totally one directional. No one is calling for Truth Social to make any room for us.

Everywhere should be a hostile place for Republicans. They should not be able to find a friend anywhere. They should lose all their professional and familial relationships. They should be blocked from signing up to social media platforms, clubs, and yard sales. They should be ejected from fairs.

people who complain about this really just mean that they want a silver bullet to do it right the first time, when in reality you have to write so much absolute shit before you get something even remotely good. it's a craft. you have to actually work at it, and this annoys them

Seeing complaints online that authors 'gatekeep' information…! Absolute nonsense. There is no industry or craft in the world which is so comprehensively written about, studied, and discussed as fiction writing, and every author I know welcomes new writers who are serious about giving it a go.

I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.
