The #LambertonLab focuses on understanding transmission dynamics of #NeglectedTropicalDiseases and how best to control them | Combatting #NTDs through #interdisciplinary #research | #Schistosomiasis #Onchocerciasis #SoilTransmittedHelminthiasis 🧪

One of our objectives w/ #WickedSchisto is to understand what #WASH interventions are popular and cost-effective in #schistosomiasis endemic communities. Securing govt & district-level buy-in was one of our first steps, to ensure the project is rooted in local systems, priorities & leadership.

We are starting off strong in #Mayuge district of #Uganda with a #WickedSchisto stakeholder engagement meeting. We believe collaborating 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾 w/ all stakeholders at the national, district and local levels can lead to sustainable change in #WASH interventions for #schistosomiasis. 🪱🧪

At the Stakeholders Meeting, Dr Alfred Mubangizi (Ag. Asst Commissioner, Vector-borne and NTDs at the Uganda MoH) in his welcome remarks, underscored the timely nature of #WickedSchisto and shared that the MoH was proud to be collaborating with @lamberton-lab.bsky.social on this very important work.
