The Fire Nation being Indian makes sense when you consider Shyamalan identified most with Zuko, whose the only character with a real arc, so he cast Dev Patel, the real/great actor, for the strongest role that he most identified with. That choice then set the Fire Nation’s ethnicity.

I’d argue the Shyamalan version sort of has a soul. I like that he makes the fire nation Indian and everyone else white. An Indian human had a divine creative spark there

inventing an app that fills out those customer surveys for you using the power of ChatGPT 7 and Clude Omega. All you do is answer some questions and then it infers how you'd most likely respond to any survey. there's a biweekly recalibration quiz to fill out to keep the model optimally accurate.

I hate internet culture cause like someone will commit a faux pas and then others will cryptically allude to this person's other dire transgressions and when you finally learn what those were its just they were imprecise about craft terms and tried to be even-handed about municipal water usage stats

Do you think if there was a ghost that lived in your mouth and made everything you said as hyperbolic as possible but you just thought you were saying what you meant, you'd eventually realize something was being miscommunicated or do you think you'd go around believing everyone was too sensitive?

I actually think opaque academic jargon is good because most people are lazy, and if you give them a vaguely compositionally deconstructable term, they will try to compositionally deconstruct it rather than find out what it actually means.

there are a lot of philosophical concepts that get egregiously misused out of the seminar room (and in the seminar room, to be fair). but in terms of sheer pernicious misuse "social construct" has gotta be top 5 somewhere and it's not number 5

Coming up with ideas: gaily vitamins, trampolines that make it harder to jump (more gravity), glass that doesn't work, pants TV, an inside-out scarf, non-bewildering magic, backpacks for dogs (both ways), rage that edifies, central intestines, smell writing, tissues for hiccups, god that's obvious

buying an old pyprus fragment to do an archeological forgery except instead of it saying "Jesus said my wife—" or whatever it's gonna say "Aristotle mentions that Argos was a beagle" it would fool me and that's all that matters
