So many kiwis share the same story. That special river, lake or beach that holds connections across generations. For many, those environments of our past are now too polluted or degraded to safely swim or gather a feed from....continued in comments.

Let's draw a line in the sand. No mining on public Conservation land. If this Coal-alition Government actually listened to kiwis, this would be a no brainer. It's in our nature to care for eachother and te taiao environment. For all of us 🐝🦋🌳🐧👶
If we're going to make good decisions that look after our communities, environment, and our future, we need to invest in science and research 👩🏽🔬 That means funding science for the public interest, not defunding or privatising the science sector 🏥🌏🌿 We can do better💚 Funded by Parliamentary Services.
Another week of more unworkable, dysfunctional legislation proposed by a Government who claims to know the price of everything, but so clearly know the value of nothing ☠️☠️ Their resource management bills are open season on pollution and exploitation of te taiao, environment, all for a quick buck🫣🤯
No sooner had the Govt decimated environmental protections in the new Planning & Natural Environment Bills, they drop the bombshell that Manawhakahono ā rohe agreements will be scrapped too (literally minutes after select committee had agreed to uphold them...including national and act members) ☠️☠️
Today, like everyday, was a perfect day to stand up for nature ✊️🌏 Shoutout to the @makenoisefornature crew who organised hundreds of kiwis (just a few snapped here!) to march to parliament today. Stoked to speak alongside Mike Smith, Forest and Bird, Climate Liberation Aotearoa, Yadana Saw and Nate.
The Greens have a plan to protect the health of our people, especially our newborns, and our environment. It means strong rules so there's less pollution from synthetic nitrogen fertiliser and too many cows, and putting the brakes on dairy expansion. Let's put healthy water first, for all of us ✊️💧
While freshwater pollution is on the rise with dairy cow numbers spiking - only 61% of farmers are even bothering to comply with their legal requirement to report nitrogen fertiliser use. This is all from a Government who is taking the brakes of intensive farming in a race to the bottom.
Shoutout to Friends of Tawa Bush for hosting the loveliest, muddiest, Matariki planting day and the epic community turn out whose people power planted 900 natives in the regenerating bush areas above Grenada North yesterday 🙌💚🌳 ....made the cuppa and baking afterwards that much sweeter too 😅🤩

Keep submitting on the Conservation Amendment Bill as it stands by this Wed 5pm July 2nd ✊️ Don't let Government screw ups and distraction divert your attention from standing up for our wildest, most precious Conservation land 👏👏
It's in our nature to put people and planet before corporate profits. Now more than ever. Join us for a kōrero about Te Taiao - our environment. What's happening with this Government and most importantly what needs to happen in the future ✊️🌏 RSVP at link in comments.
Ministerial trips to drum up foreign investment into mining places like our public Conservation land by bulldozing them through Fast Track....yeah naaaaaa. A Government who governs for our people and te taiao environment is possible. Just clearly not with this one ☠️
24,000 voices got their submission in on the Conservation (Exploitation) Amendment Bill over the last weekend alone! And our petition is at over 48,000 signatures and counting 😱👏👏🌏🌳🐧 Keep the pressure on. Force this Government to sink this bill, just like their harmful Fisheries bill ✊️ Links below!
Our Government are doing whatever in their power to remove or weaken environmental protections and entice foreign companies to come mine our country, take the profits offshore and leave communities to pay the tab with a decimated environment and toxic legacy ☠️☠️
People power works ✊️ it's delayed the Government's horrific Fisheries Amendment Bill, now we need to sink it, and its public conservation land privatisation buddy the Conservation Amendment Bill, for good. Your voice matters. Use it for good this election year 💚🌏

Tautoko to @350.org and countless communities fighting this Government's destructive and undemocratic Fast track projects. ANZ: There is no future in digging up iconic public conservation land like the Denniston plateau and all the critters and plants native to that unique place for a quick buck ☠️

Zooming into Youth Politics information night in Timaru. Politics doesn't have to be about money and power hungry sugar-hit short-termism. We can choose a politics that is about care for each other as human beings, our environment, and future generations 💚✊️🌏
Opps! Our Government forgot about the foundation of our collective wellbeing and disestablished the dedicated Ministry for the Environment ☠️☠️ In five months voting opens....let's not forget this one. Enrol. Vote. Share. Get involved ✊️
The utter rejection of information, evidence and science by this Government is astoundingly reckless. They didn't even want to see, let alone understand, the risks to the critical work of the Ministry for the Environment that would result from its disestablishment ☠️☠️
Budget urgency. We finished up at midnight and will be back at it at 9am
Big money is flowing into this general election. ACT took in $700k in the last three days. What does that money buy?
