I've always thought that culture was any additional effort over what was required for survival. But when we see such efforts, we don't say "why are you wasting your energy?" We say "Wow, that's cool! I want to waste my energy to travel there to watch you waste your energy." Human's are so strange.

Large financial institutions can behave more recklessly as they are often considered too big too fail. How come our society doesn't consider the american people as a whole "too big to fail"? I know that's because the media owners turn us against each other, but I why do we just accept that?

"Qatar has said almost a fifth of its LNG production has been knocked out for as long as five years, while QatarEnergy said the attacks would cost about $20 billion a year in lost revenue." Trump is like a toddler destroying whatever he gets his hands on as he throws a fit.

03/09 CBS "I think the war is very complete, pretty much." 03/09 CBS "There's nothing left in a military sense." 3/10 Speech "It's going to be ended soon... a short-term excursion." 3/13 Post "Iran is totally defeated and wants a deal."

Remember when conspiracy theorists railed against the "new world order"? Stability is looking pretty good right now, yeah? Stability doesn't mean we can't have progress, but take a look around, if you think revolution is better than progress.

I just found out deficits are held in bonds, primarily by the wealthy. They get that money back, plus interest. So deficit spending is a wealth transfer mechanism from taxpayers to the wealthy. The 3 trillion in deficit from the big ugly bill will net another $700B in interest on top of the tax cut.

Discomfort is not pain. Pain is damage. Discomfort strengthens your prefrontal cortex, leading to wiser decisions. Discomfort lowers your hedonic set point, leading to a richer life. Choosing discomfort is an act of forgiveness, as you are choosing to heal yourself, rather than punish yourself.
