Alison Ashbury wrote a particularly moving obituary in memory of Dr Birutė Galdikas. One of the “Trimates”, she transformed our understanding of orangutans through a lifetime of fieldwork and conservation. Her legacy lives on in the forests she fought to protect and in the generations she inspired.
