I like to talk about video games and stories. Maybe wrestling, maybe Linux too. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Of course it’s fucking plausible! They just don’t want to put the time and effort into making it happen! 😡 Honestly, it’s like these companies think we’re all fools who have never bought anything digitally before ! GoG seem to have been doing this for years without much of an issue!

Sony says "reasonable consumers" know they don’t own the digital PlayStation games they buy. It argues that it's "not plausible" to suggest that when they buy a digital game they actually believe they're "obtaining ownership" of it. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/sony-sa...

Here’s my hot takes: No one should be harassed for their opinion on a video game - don’t be an idiot. People who publish deliberately provocative headlines shouldn’t “woe, is me” when people get provoked. The only correct way to enjoy a video game is by playing it however you damn want!

The implication that people who play nerdy niche sailing games or nerdy puzzle games or tiny story-driven emotional deckbuilders - like me! - won’t also be playing GTA6 at launch is wild. 😅 It’s going to be all consuming for at least a few weeks, I don’t think there is any getting around that…

ShipShaper developer Tomas Sala says indies shouldn't be scared of GTA6. "It has its own f***ing audience that doesn't go around buying nerdy niche sailing games or nerdy puzzle games or tiny story-driven emotional deckbuilders. They just want to play GTA." https://bit.ly/4zmx0Yk

I don’t like conflating “isn’t excited by new movies” and “doesn’t care about art”. I’ve probably watched a handful of new movies over the past decade and rarely deliberately. I do however play a lot of games, watch tv, read books and own a lot of physical artworks. So, yeah, I do care about art.

When people say pretentious stuff like “I haven’t been excited by a new movie in years” are they aware that this is a sign they don’t care about art at all

Speaking largely for myself and the people I know, but I do believe gamers who play a lot of indies just tend to be more game agnostic - playing everything from AAA to a 2hr indie. While I’m sure there will be plenty that just won’t play GTA because it’s not their thing, I think *A LOT* of will.
