I finally replaced my $10 coffee scale. I ended up going with a Bookoo Themis Ultra. I don't know why it took me so long but the consistency compared to my old scale is excellent.

I wrote some #ziglang that uses an allocator, got it to compile, and now I'm learning about lifetimes and where I need to deinit(). 😅 It's funny, I'm really drawn to #rustlang for reasons like the tool chain, but really struggled to feel productive. Zig feels productive but without the toolchain.

2025's #GitWrapped

As someone who primarily writes #Golang, I've really enjoyed the similarities when learning #Ziglang. I'm working through Ziglings and haven't written anything substantial but in my current journey I don't feel like the learning curve is as high as #Rustlang.

The iOS 26 upgrade got under my skin enough that I recently decided to try the pixel 10 pro xlmnop. It's largely fine and I can put up with a lot so long as the camera is solid and consistent. One thing that I do miss is Apple Books and the iCloud integration that it and other apps had.

It feels like the bots are really ramping up on bluskie.

Both of our dogs passed away this year. It's been a tough one but my wife put our yard on an app so people with dogs can rent it and it's been so awesome. Someone just brought their dog here for two hours because it was their pup's birthday 🤩
