This story about a Texas based oil company showing up in Greenland without permission and dropping off equipment isn’t getting a lot of media coverage. It’s illegal to drill for oil in Greenland due to new laws passed. The big question is why this company feels so emboldened.

When Secretary of transportation, Sean Duffy, isn’t filming a reality TV show with his family, he’s busy making sure that all information about bike lanes are removed from the DOT website. Yes, that’s right, he’s at war against bike lanes. 🚴🏽🚴🏻♀️🚴🏿♂️

This is very odd. The reflection pool is connected to a vast water system that extends below the White House. There’s a lot more going on than is currently being reported.

The planned fireworks display is very Trumpian—a grotesque spectacle that nobody’s asking for, that will dangerously pollute the air, and will cost $1.6 million. If you want to watch it in person, you must arrive at 6:00 for the 10:30 show but you can’t bring chairs, coolers, or backpacks.

The reality: Men do not need to put on a dress and go into a public restroom to abuse women and children. They usually just go home. Or don a clerical collar. Or wear a badge. Or run for office. Or play pro sports. Or they just do it in public, wearing pants.

This story isn’t getting much coverage but it’s another example of Trump destroying American assets for his own reasons. And Congress just lets it happen even though we spent $hundreds of millions to put the system in place. He’s trashing this country because he doesn’t care.

Robert Komaniecki@komaniecki.bsky.social · 4mo agoThe final solution for AI in academia is a scenario where students are submitting AI-generated homework to be graded by AI-generated faculty using AI agents, all of which is being overseen by highly paid administrators who are extracting money from the students in exchange for a degree. The end.
Normally the 4 years of college allows people to be exposed to new ideas but that often leads to them breaking away from the conservative values taught in the home. The goal of Repubs is to force our Ivy Leagues to become more like Christian colleges that don’t challenge conservative thinking.
Thomas Zimmer@thomaszimmer.bsky.social · 4mo agoThis critique has crystallized in the demand for universities to guarantee “viewpoint diversity.” This may sound good in a vacuum: Balance, pluralism, a diversity of perspectives… In practice, it always and exclusively means: Employ more rightwingers / political conservatives.
It always comes as a surprise to me when wealthy, powerful people choose to use their influence to make the lives of transgender people miserable. Think of all the lovely things you could do with a $billion for yourself and for others. Why use it to spread hate?
Queen_Potato@queenpotato.bsky.social · 4mo agoAnd there you have it. The anti trans campaign in Maine was never some "grassroots movement." It was bankrolled by billionaire Richard Uihlein, who poured over $800,000 into targeting trans kids over sports and bathrooms.
A ray of hope in our dark time line. First we stop corporate spending on elections (which always seemed impossible until now.) Once every state has cut the dark money pipeline from corporations, then we go after individuals with bottomless pockets. It’s the only way we can be a true democracy.

Note how many of them focus on Trump's 2016 conspiracies, which are probably responses to Brennan and Comey appearing on MSNOW.
More proof that White Evangelical Christians in America are more interested in supporting their team (team Trump) than in practicing their religion. The 10 Commandments are all broken or ignored by leadership. The Sermon on the Mount means nothing to them. Trump, not Jesus, is their guiding light.
