Happy Birthday Phoebe Atwood Taylor, 1909, Boston. She is best known for her Asey Mayo books - the "Codfish Sherlock" who investigated crime on Cape Cod. The books are funny, well plotted, and offer a look at a slice of American life at a particular time and place.

The Epstein files changed me forever. I read them in painstaking detail over months, realizing in real time that we are not ruled by laws equally applied. We are ruled by wealth, access, and protection networks. America is a syndicate. I’ll never get over it, so don’t ask me to.
Remember: If your county votes tomorrow it is ILLEGAL for cops to stop you coming and going to polls to vote. Also, your employer must give you four 4 hours to vote while the polls are open if you are scheduled. So you must get off early in most cases. It is the law.
