#ike was/is the greatest Republican president since Lincoln. After leaving office in 1961 he wanted to be addressed as General Eisenhower, and he was buried in his WW2 uniform. He is correct below and he also warned, famously, about the military-industrial complex in his 1961 farewell speech.
