what a nice surprise to click on a link and see my forthcoming @adventitiouswords.bsky.social story “A Hole in My Heart the Shape of the Multiverse” reviewed—and to see so much love for @reckoningmag.bsky.social, where I’m on staff! clearly Jay has excellent taste
Guess what? I've got an *extra* short fiction review this month! I took a look at a handful of stories from Adventitious, Kaleidotrope, and Reckoning. All had stories worth reading, with Reckoning in particular standing out: www.tarvolon.com/2026/07/27/t...
It's weird, topical, neurospicy, it's got moomins, it's by a new author, it makes connections you've never thought about, it's not like anything you've read. I'm proud to feature this quintessentially Reckoning essay in our 10th anniversary issue. Been wondering about what we publish? Start here
From Reckoning X, an essay on how to survive and remain creative while the world is plunged into chaos: "The Main Thing Is to Not Be Afraid: Tove Jansson, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Art in the Era of Climate Change" by Moshe Schaffzin reckoning.press/the-main-thi...
Trigger warning: death It was late in the evening and Luka had a bad day. Food just wasn't tasting as good no matter what his family put in his mouth. Breathing didn't sit quite right with him and he just couldn't get comfortable.
Dec 2018! Luka's first homestay with us Look at how bright eyed he was!
The last video of Mr Luka. He hasn't been able to stand or walk. Eating was a problem. Last week we sent him for an x-ray and we found a big mass in his lungs (he also had an abscess that we started draining and cleaning). He didn't eat much on his last day but he had some tasty chicken
Some earlier memories: this is within a week of us adopting him. He was still recovering from a gash on his snoot from a fight in the shelter. How did a dog whom life treated so hard have so much love to give?
