Ambassador Adão Soares Barbosa (Timor-Leste) - Chair of the Least Developed Countries Group at UN Climate Change negotiations.

At #MoCA10, I highlighted the priorities of the LDC Group ahead of COP31: stronger ambition aligned with 1.5°C, urgent delivery of climate finance, accelerated implementation of NDCs and NAPs, support for adaptation and loss & damage, and a just transition that works. #MoCA10

Today, together with AOSIS, I expressed serious concern over the slow progress at #SB64 in Bonn. I also call on Parties to make meaningful progress on mitigation, adaptation, and climate finance. Keeping 1.5°C alive is essential for the survival of vulnerable nations!

The ICJ Advisory Opinion on climate change stands as a powerful affirmation of international law, climate justice, science, the collective commitment to keep the 1.5°C goal alive, and the responsibility of states to protect people from the escalating climate crisis.
