I inadvertently woke her up by stumbling down the steps in my slippy Birks right next to where they’re roosting today. She didn’t look that concerned about my welfare though. She went back to sleep about 4 seconds later. He never woke up in the first place.
Mr Tawny was nowhere to be found this morning. I default to immediately fearing the worst if I can’t find one of them, but this arvo I spotted him under the back deck. I’m sure he wasn’t there this morning. I should have taken my cue from Ms Tawny who was supremely chill all day, as per usual.
Seeing and feeling the burst of pure rage that Barnaby Joyce directed at his poor dog last night had quite a visceral effect on me and I still can’t shake it off. This morning I had a higher than usual need for a bit of calming tawny therapy.

We also met this lovely Agile Wallaby. He/she was much more committed to getting a good feed and checking us out than hopping away.
