Watched the game back, the difference between Nyoni and Gravenberch showing for the ball is night and day. In the second half nobody wanted to relieve the CBs of the ball and they ended up essentially having to cosplay as playmakers. Saw this all too often with our midfield last season

It’s only pre season etc etc but this is why the worries about Iraola’s style against low blocks are unmerited. When you move the ball this quickly you will inevitably break it down.

Chambers has been absolutely fantastic btw. He’d played a little bit as a left centre back in a 3 for Wigan but never in a two. Him and Ndukwe been rock solid against senior pros
For me there’s just zero point in keeping Chiesa around when Koumas can do the same job while being much younger, homegrown and not on £150,000 a week
